This family of second generation ANY-maze Interface devices replace the original ANY-maze interface (AMi); providing improved performance in a smaller form-factor and at a lower price. Driver set-up, device updates, configuration, testing, etc. are all performed from within the ANY-maze software. All the ANY-maze Interface devices are fully integrated into ANY-maze and connect to the PC via USB, in most cases you don't even need a power cord.

The following connecting devices are available for use with ANY-maze (for more information follow this link to ANY-maze.com):

The Electrophysiology interface is designed to help synchronize test in ANY-maze with test in an electrophysiology system. It consists of 6 TTL ports, each of which can be configured independently as an input or an output. The electrophysiology synchronization element within the ANY-maze protocol allows you to output TTL signals when a test starts, when a new frame is captured from the camera, and/or when ANY-maze stores the animal's position in its results. Full details can be found here.

The Optogenetics interface is designed to independently control up to four optogenetic lasers during behavioural tests performed with ANY-maze. Using the interface, you can either pulse a laser with very high precision at a specific frequency and duty cycle for a set duration, or you can 'play' a series of arbitrary pulses. If your laser supports it, the interface can dynamically adjust the laser's intensity too. Full details can be found here.

The Operant interface is designed to connect ANY-maze to the popular range of Operant conditioning equipment available from Med Associates. The interface, which connects directly to the computer via USB, is a drop-in replacement for the for existing Med Associates connection panels and includes 20 outputs and 10 inputs. Full details can be found here

The Touch switch interface is designed to detect when an animal touches something conductive. For example, the touch switch can be used to detect when the animal licks at a bottle spout, when the animal's paw touches a metal plate on the wall of a cage, or when the animal slips from a grid and its paw touching a metal floor. Full details can be found here

The Relay interface has 6 output ports which can be used to turn things on and off under software control. For example, an output could switch on a shocker, turn on a light or activate a pellet dispenser. Full details can be found here.

The Digital interface is designed to connect ANY-maze to a wide range of equipment typically found in behavioural labs, such as: levers, photobeams, running wheels, some shockers and pellet dispensers, cue lights, etc. Full details can be found here

The Analogue interface is designed to connect ANY-maze to devices which output analogue signals, for example a respiratory gas analyser, a blood pressure monitor or an EEG. The interface can also output digital signals, which can, for example, represent the location of the animal in the apparatus. Full details can be found here

The Audio interface has six outputs which can be connected to 4-ohm or 8-ohm speakers. Each output can independently play white noise, tones or a sound file under full software control. Full details can be found here
