The Reynolds Adolescent Depression Scale (RADS-2) is a brief self-report report measure that evaluates an adolescent's level of depression in the following areas: Dysphoric Mood, Anhedonia/Negative Affect, Negative Self-Evaluation, and Somatic Complaints.

Four scales assess the underlying dimensions of adolescent depression.

RADS-2 is a brief, 30-item, self report measure that evaluates an adolescent's level of depression in the following areas: Dysphoric Mood, Anhedonia/Negative Affect, Negative Self-Evaluation, Somatic Complaints

Interpretation of these subscales is based on both the nature of the depression domain, and the content of the subscale. Scores identify the clinical severity of the depressive symptoms as normal, mild, moderate or severe.

RADS-2 also yields a Depression Total score, representing the overall severity of depressive symptomology. This is particularly useful in alerting professionals to adolescents who may be experiencing a significant amount of depression.

RADS-2 has been restandardized with a new school-based sample of 3,300 adolescents, stratified for gender and ethnicity, based on the Year 2000 Census. Its updated normative tables provide standard scores and percentile ranks for both the Depression Total and the four subscales.

New carbonless, hand-scorable Test Booklet facilitates scoring and interpretation.

The RADS-2 Kit includes the Manual, 25 Test Booklets and 25 Summary/ Profile Forms.
