The TEACCH Transition Assessment Profile (TTAP) facilitates educational and transitional planning for individuals with autism spectrum disorders.

Facilitates educational and transitional planning for individuals with autism spectrum disorders.

  • Age Range: Grades 3-12 and Adulthood
  • Time: 1 ½ hours–direct observation
  • Time: 3 ½ hours–3 scales

The TTAP is a new and improved revision of the Adolescent and Adult Psychoeducational Profile, structured to satisfy the IDEA provisions which require adolescents to be evaluated and provided with a transition plan by age 14.

Educators, parents, counselors and care providers can use this powerful tool to assist individuals with autism spectrum disorders to prepare for a successful, semi-independent adult life (personal development, recreational living, adult integration into employment, residential arrangements, etc). The TTAP also identifies principle transition goals, as well as strengths and weaknesses. A Cumulative Record of Skills (CRS) , along with two data collection forms, provides an efficient method of ongoing assessment in community-based instruction.

The TTAP emphasizes evaluation in six major functional areas:

  1. Vocational Skills
  2. Vocational Behavior
  3. Independent Functioning
  4. Leisure Skills
  5. Functional Communication
  6. Interpersonal Behavior

These six functional areas are evaluated within three contexts:

  1. Direct Observation — by a teacher, psychologist, job coach or other trained professional
  2. Home — primary care provider evaluates performance in residential setting
  3. School/Work — teacher or work supervisor evaluates academic/work setting

The TTAP features a unique scoring system, with assessment for transition. It provides for environmental accommodation, and identification of preferences for individuals with limited communication skills.

The TTAP Kit includes a Manual and 10 Profile/Scoring Forms.
